On Tuesday 5th January 2016, I went up to Overtoun Estate Woods (by means of parking on Campbell Avenue) with my mother Christine Rainey to walk our dog Molly via the lower path and then returning to the green gates beside the road via Overtoun House and the main upper path. I collected quite a bit of plastic bottles, cans and plastic that had been thrown onto the ground during the Hogmanay (New Year) period by a small minority of walkers desperate to burn off their extra Christmas calories.
This was also my first day of filming my litter picks with a new GoPro Hero 2014 Entry Level Camera I got for Christmas. There were several times, though, that I had to physically get the camera back upright on the pole of my litter picker because it kept on slipping upside down! Oh well, I hope the blue tac will work well in securing the camera next time.
Enjoy 2016, everybody!
P.S. To the 2 elderly ladies with their dogs (my mother and I passed them just after crossing Overtoun Bridge) who as it turns out thought that my Litter Picker with the GoPro attached to it was a shotgun, I do apologise if the incredible sight of the litter picker frightened you and hope you respect what I do to clean up the woods of rubbish.
