Heading: "Council must act now over dumped rubbish"

"I would like to highlight some issues that have been happening on a path that stretches from Dumbuck Road to a small railway bridge (route between Dumbarton East and Bowling) for some time.

The issues are Flytipping and littering as well as dog fouling. Some of the litter appears to have been coming from broken bits of metal fence leading to the properties nearby.

I reported this to the Council on Sunday 11th October (2015) but their response was unusual but unsatisfactory, despite the fact I witness a man (wearing a builders hat and orange visibility vest) and a tipper van appearing to inspect the rubbish the day after from the 11:50 Balloch train approaching Dumbarton East. The response was that because the construction of houses in nearby Orissa Drive by Bett Homes (now Avant Homes) was not completed yet, they have to wait at least 3 years until after construction is finished to 'adopt' the stretch of path where the problems are happening.

1 week after, I contacted Avant Homes themselves via e-Mail to discuss the problem but they still have not responded as of yet. I considered contacting Network Rail to discuss this problem but I have a strong feeling their response will be to blame either the Council or Avant Homes in terms of who is responsible for clearing it away.

I hope that by raising this issue in the press, West Dunbartonshire Council will finally take action to clear away the rubbish and stop these problems from happening again."
